Krambach Rural Bushfire Brigade

The Brigade is a volunteer brigade comprised of people who live in the Krambach area.
If there is fire, call "000"; that is "zero, zero, zero". Give your name, your contact number, the best address to access the fire and the type of fire; perhaps grass fire, bush fire, fire in a building.

The Brigade meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the Fire Station  in Fire Station Road in Krambach village. At meetings the month's activities are reviewed, information from the Taree Fire Control Office is considered, training is programmed and equipment readiness is monitored. Should you be interested you would be most welcome to attend.

Our Brigade Captain is Neville Moore and his Senior Deputy is Clare Broniman, both of whom have had many years experience fighting bush fires.  Senior Deputy Clare Broniman also offers training every Monday night (with the exception of fourth Monday of each month) commencing at 7:00pm.

At present we have only a limited number active members and would welcome fit and able new members to the Brigade. Because of the obvious hazards that are associated with fires the Brigade insists that its members are given appropriate training before being able to take part in fighting fires. A large part of this training involves personal safety. The Brigade is keen to ensure the safety of it's members and it needs new members.

Training is available in Basic Fire Fighting, First Aid, Chainsaw operation and all levels of fire management. These are nationally accredited VET Certificate Courses.

The Krambach Brigade has two vehicles that are equipped with tanks, pumps, hoses and fittings and tools to handle fires and training to use all the equipment is essential.

In the Krambach Village you cannot light a fire without a special permit from the Midcoast Council because of the environmental restrictions.

Outside the Village it is necessary to apply for a permit and these are issued by the Taree Fire Control Office who can be contacted by phone 6591 2900.

When a Total Fire Ban is declared all permits are void until the Ban is lifted.
