Neighbourhood Centre Finances
The Nabiac Memorial Neighbourhood Centre Inc is the formal entity that groups the four community organisations that are the centre of our community:
- the Neighbourhood Centre Committee which manages the Neighbourhood Centre;
- the Nabiac Village Futures Group which coordinates the future economic development of the village;
- the Swimming Pool Committee who manage the fund raising and building of the pool;
- and the Op Shop that is the main generator of money for the pool.
The full financial reports for last financial year (to June 30, 2011) are available below.
Last year's highlights were:
- Major expenditure on the construction of the Swimming Pool continued.
- The Op Shop generated record sales of over $34,950 for the year.
- As would be expected, the major part of the current assets is the $422,000 reserved for the Swimming Pool. (Pool plus Op Shop plus Centre Pool Term Deposit accounts)
- The Neighbourhood Centre made a loss of $379. Note that in FY10 it made loss of $1,894. The major contributions to this change were the decreases in insurance ($850 as a result of reviewing our coverage), building maintenance ($450), and rates ($400).
- The Op Shop generated a net income of some $31,800. This was some $5,130 more that the FY10 figure of $26,670.
- For the Swimming Pool, major expenditure continued with some $41,340 spent on the pool construction. Grant, donation, and interest income totalled some $25,010, giving a net spend of some $16,330.
- The NVFG had a net spend of $252, with all the expense being on the nabiac.com website.
